Alexanderwerk @ Techceuticals Seminar “Defect Resolution & Problem Solving” – March 17 – 19, 2020

From March 17th through March 19th, 2020, a training session covering “Defect Resolution and Problem Solving” will take place at the TechCeuticals Laboratory in Cleveland, OH.

“Defects Resolution” is an advanced version of the course “Solid Dose Manufacturing”. This program is not for the novice. It is highly recommend that the participants either have at least 3 years of true manufacturing experience, attended the “Solid Dose Manufacturing program” or the “The Manufacturing Process” training programs.

Albin Friedrich, National Sales Manager USA at Alexanderwerk Inc., will assist Michael Tousey of TechCeuticals in the education of Dry Granulation technology as used in tablet manufacturing and will give deeper insights ans solutions in possible defects caused by wrong handling of the Dry Granulation process or other upstream processes.

Solid Dose Manufacturing

“Solid Dose Manufacturing” training workshop. Al Friedrich, National Sales Manager for Alexanderwerk will instruct participants on roller compaction/dry granulation technology and will provide a “hands-on” demonstration of the WP-120 Pharma roller compactor. There is no teacher like experience. Come learn from Mike Tousey and his associates and roll up your sleeves for some real world exposure to solid dosage from manufacturing and powder processing

Alexanderwerk at Blending & Segregation Forum 2019 (Purdue University, August 5 – 8, 2019)

From August, 5th throughout August, 8th the “Blending & Segregation Forum 2019” will be held at the University of Purdue. Organized this year by our research partner, the Center for Particulate Products and Processes (CP3) at the University of Purdue in West Lafayette (IN, USA). Alexanderwerk will actively support the forum and of course also be represented locally. Matt Walczer, National Sales Manager at our US subsidiary Alexanderwerk Inc., will be there to present “The Power of Roller Compaction“.

Incidentally, Alexanderwerk Inc. also supports the forum with exhibits in order to support research in the scientific field of bulk material processing and powder optimization. The University of Purdue operates a WP 120 Pharma from Alexanderwerk in a continuous, integrated production line (blending, roll compaction and tableting) and is funded by the FDA for research in this area. Currently, another WP 120 Pharma is on its way to the USA in order to be able to incorporate the state of the art of roll compaction. Soon this WP 120 Pharma will be installed in the brand new “Flex Center“, a lab sponsored by the FDA.

How high-caliber the event is, shows the Scientific Committee:

  • Marcial Gonzalez, Chair

While on Monday, August 5th, in the context of a workshop mainly practical demonstrations are in the foreground, takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday (August, 6th & 7th) a conference with 4 sessions instead. The key note speakers and session chairs are:

  • Jennifer Sinclair Curtis
Dean of the College of Engineering
    UC Davis
  • John Hecht
Technical Section Head: Drying and Particle Processes
    Procter & Gamble
  • Richard M. Lueptow
Sr. Associate Dean of Operations & Research, McCormick
    Northwestern University
  • Anthony Thornton
Associate Professor of Mathematics & Mechanical Engineering
    University of Twente
  • Carl Wassgren
Professor of Mechanics and Professor of Industrial & Physical Pharmacy
    Purdue University

On Thursday, 8.8.2019, there will be an optional symposium, which, like the workshop, is limited to 20 participants. There are still a few places left at the event! Make a reservation “last minute” and meet great people from industry and research on site as well as experts from Alexanderwerk!
